Seasonings and Sauces
As a youth in the Boy Scouts, I developed a great affinity for outdoor cooking on an open fire. Later I often grilled for family and friends with charcoal and gas grills. Each time I cooked, I wanted to repeat some of the favorite dishes of the past as well as explore new experiences with the latest sauce and seasoning.
Von, my wife of over 30 years, began canning vegetables and unique jellies. One day we discussed the possibilities of sharing our farm raised fruit jellies and grilling products, forming Petrus Farm & Grill.
In the last few years my attention turned to smoking meats on stick burner smokers while operating Petrus Farm & Grill BBQ trailer. I regularly smoked ribs, pork butts, beef, and chicken for daily routes and catering events.
